Along with daily care for your tattoo there are some things that should be avoided.
Don't pick at it!
Your tattoo will get flaky, even a bit scabby. It is crucial that you do not pick the skin or scabs, let them fall off naturally. Removing the skin prematurely will pull out pigment from your new tattoo. Wear light clothing, if possible, and protect your tattoo from dust, sand, and pet hair for the first week. Ensure your sheets and clothes are clean as well to prevent infection.
Do not soak your tattoo.
You should avoid swimming polls, hot tubs, lakes, saunas. and baths until the tattoo is completely healed.
Stay out of the sun.
The damaging UV rays of the sun will cause a healing tattoo to fade. Once the tattoo is fully healed you can use a sunblock with a high SPF to protect your tattoo from fading.
